Restaurant Website in Bangladesh: Menu, Table Booking and Online Orders

Restaurant Website in Bangladesh: Menu, Table Booking and Online Orders
Short answer

A restaurant website in Bangladesh should do three jobs: show the menu with prices, take table bookings, and take orders directly so regular customers can order without a food app's commission. Add opening hours, a Google Maps link, a tap-to-call button and real photos, and keep it fast on a phone. With a builder and a restaurant template you can set this up in a day or two; the real work is keeping the menu and prices up to date.

When people look up a restaurant, they want answers to three questions: is it open now, what is on the menu and how much does it cost, and how do I get there or get the food delivered. On a Facebook page those answers are often buried under old posts, and on a food app your restaurant sits next to dozens of competitors. This guide covers what a restaurant website in Bangladesh needs, how to organise the menu, bookings and delivery, and how to make sure people actually find it.

Prices and fees mentioned are approximate and current as of October 2026. Food app commissions and gateway fees depend on your contract; confirm them with the provider.

Why a restaurant needs its own website

Food delivery apps are good at one thing: bringing you customers who did not know you existed. Keep using them if they work for you. But they also take a commission on each order, usually keep the customer's contact details, and show your menu in their format. Your own website does the jobs an app cannot:

  • Regular customers order directly. Someone who already loves your kacchi does not need an app to discover you. Every direct order is one with no platform commission.
  • You own the customer list. Phone numbers from direct orders let you send an Eid menu or a new-branch announcement.
  • Bookings and catering. Birthday tables, office lunches, iftar groups and wedding catering do not fit in a delivery app.
  • Trust and search. When someone searches your name on Google, your own site with real hours and an accurate menu looks more serious than a page last updated months ago.

Food apps and your own website do different jobs. Most restaurants benefit from using both.

Must-have parts of a restaurant website

A restaurant site does not need many pages. It needs the right information in the right order, with everything important reachable within a thumb's reach on a phone.

Checklist of the eight parts every restaurant website in Bangladesh should have
The eight parts that answer what hungry visitors actually want to know.

A simple structure that works for most restaurants: a home page (hero photo, today's hours, "Order now" and "Book a table" buttons, best sellers), a menu page, a booking page, an about page with the story and the kitchen, and a contact page with the map. Larger places add pages for catering, events and branches.

For most restaurant sites the menu is the most visited page, so it deserves the most care.

  1. Type it, do not just upload a photo. A photo of the printed menu is hard to read on a phone, cannot be searched by Google and is painful to update. Type each dish with its price.
  2. Group dishes the way people order. Starters, rice and biryani, curries, kebabs and grills, drinks, desserts. Put set menus and combos at the top; they are what groups and families look for.
  3. Write one useful line per dish. Portion size ("for 2 people"), spice level, whether it contains beef, nuts or dairy. Bangla and English names side by side help both local and foreign guests.
  4. Show real photos of your best sellers. Not every dish needs a photo, but the top ten should have one.
  5. Keep prices current. An old price on the website starts an argument at the counter. When prices change, update the site the same day.

Ramadan tip: Make a separate iftar and sehri menu with its own hours a week before Ramadan starts, and put it on the home page. Switch it back after Eid.

Table booking

Phone bookings get forgotten and mixed up. A booking form on the website collects the same details every time: name, phone number, date, time, number of guests and a note (birthday, high chair, separate family section). Decide a few rules before you switch it on:

  • How far ahead people can book, and the latest time for same-day bookings.
  • How many tables you keep for walk-in guests, especially on Friday and holiday evenings.
  • Whether large groups need an advance payment, and how you take it (bKash or Nagad to your number is common).
  • Who on your staff checks new bookings and confirms them by phone or SMS, and how quickly.

Always confirm. A booking that the customer never hears back about feels like no booking at all.

Online orders and delivery

Taking orders on your own site is where most of the savings are, but only if the order process is clear and fast. Decide these things first:

  • Delivery areas and charges. List the areas you cover and the charge for each. Hot food has a short window, so keep the radius realistic.
  • Minimum order and preparation time. Write them on the menu and at checkout, not in small print.
  • Payment. Cash on delivery is still what many customers expect. bKash and Nagad to your own number work well for advance or full payment; a payment gateway adds cards. Gateway fees depend on the provider, so confirm them. Our guide to bKash payment options for websites compares the routes.
  • Riders. Many restaurants use their own riders for nearby orders. Parcel couriers suit packaged items (pickles, frozen food, cakes for the next day) better than hot meals.
  • Pick-up orders. "Order online, collect at the counter" is the simplest way to start and needs no riders at all.

Before you go live, place three test orders from your own phone using cash on delivery, bKash and pick-up. Check that the kitchen sees the order, that the delivery charge is right, and how long the whole thing takes.

Getting found on Google and Facebook

A website nobody visits does not help. Most new visitors will come from three places:

  1. Google Maps and Business Profile. When people search "biryani near me" or your area's name, Google shows the map listing first. Claim your free Business Profile, add the same hours, phone number and website address, and upload good photos. Our guide to Google Business Profile for Bangladeshi businesses walks through it.
  2. Your Facebook page. Put the website link in the page's button and in every menu or offer post. Ask people to order "from our website" rather than in the inbox.
  3. Google search. Give each page a clear title, such as "Menu and prices | [Restaurant name], Dhanmondi". Mention your area and the dishes you are known for in normal sentences.

Print a QR code that opens your menu and put it on tables, takeaway bags and the counter. It is the cheapest way to turn walk-in customers into direct online customers.

Your first-week plan

  • Day 1: Choose a restaurant template, add your logo, hours, address, phone and map link.
  • Day 2: Type the full menu with prices, add photos of the top ten dishes.
  • Day 3: Set up booking rules, delivery areas, charges and payment methods.
  • Day 4: Test orders and bookings on your phone; fix anything slow or confusing.
  • Day 5–7: Connect your own domain, update your Google Business Profile and Facebook page button, print table QR codes.

Building it on Metanoz

Metanoz has 24 restaurant templates you can try in a free trial; see them on the restaurant templates page. The Restaurant app, available from the Business plan (contact us for pricing), covers the food menu, table bookings, opening hours and delivery. Customers can pay by cash on delivery or bKash and Nagad to your own number, with no commission taken by Metanoz, and you can connect your own SSLCommerz account for cards. Delivery charges can be set by area. Every plan includes Bangla and English, free SSL, SEO tools and one-click backups. You can see which features come with which plan on the apps page.

It is not the right fit for everyone. A chain that needs its kitchen display system, POS and delivery fleet tightly connected to a custom ordering platform will usually need specialised restaurant software. For a single restaurant, a café or a small group of branches, a template plus the Restaurant app covers what most of them need. Frequently asked questions

How much does a restaurant website cost in Bangladesh?

It depends on the route. A custom-built site with ordering and booking typically costs tens of thousands of taka up front plus hosting and maintenance. With a website builder you pay monthly instead; on Metanoz the Restaurant app comes with the Business plan (contact us for pricing), plus your domain. Figures are approximate as of October 2026.

Should I stop using food delivery apps once I have a website?

Usually not. Apps are good at bringing new customers. Use your website for regular customers, bookings, catering and pick-up orders, and gradually encourage repeat customers to order directly.

Can customers pay with bKash on my restaurant website?

Yes. The simplest way is bKash or Nagad to your own number, where the customer enters the transaction ID and you confirm it. For automatic payments and cards you need a payment gateway account; check its fees and requirements with the provider.

Is a photo of my printed menu enough?

It is better than nothing, but a typed menu is easier to read on a phone, can be found by Google, and is much quicker to update when prices change.

How do I get my restaurant on Google Maps?

Create or claim your free Google Business Profile, verify it, and add your hours, phone number, photos and website address. Keep the details the same as on your website.

Do I need my own delivery riders?

Not to start. You can begin with pick-up orders and nearby deliveries by your own staff, and keep using food apps for wider areas. Add riders when direct orders grow.
