There are a dozen of promising projects, and you can't keep an eye on all of the releases. There's my top-5 list of VR games so far.
The classic game of modern VR released in 2018 still draws attention and is fun to play in a company. Wide headsets support is one of the reasons why it's become the real smash. I would compare it with the Just Dance series: great music, catchy gameplay, and competitive spirit.
More than anything else this year, Resident Evil 2 showed us what VR can do. Resident Evil 2’s gameplay and graphics are impeccable, and it tells a great story. It’s easy to criticize Resident Evil 2 for its predictability and lack of innovation, but you have to give it plenty of points for being a top-quality game. Despite the VR mode being not the official release, the community developed the modification. In my opinion a decent one.
The game with so many community modifications, anniversary edition packs, and official add-ons just couldn't avoid VR. The first person fights with swords, daggers and casting fireballs makes you feel like a real Dovahkiin. Todd Howard knows best how to sell his products.
A real game-changer, a fast-paced first-person shooter that challenges players to think on their feet. It is effortless, yet it manages to be endlessly surprising. As avid gamers state, it’s one of the most engaging games VR has seen so far — even if it’s by no means the only great game that you can experience in VR.
Yes, it's not a big surprise, but a community hyped game by Valve can't be anywhere else, but at the very top of the list. I believe there's no need for detailed comments on why this game is the best of all VR projects for me. The well-known franchise, the high-end technologies, decent graphics - these all make Alyx stand out of the crowd, and give us hope that there will be more projects of this quality in the future.
